Riding on the Digital India drive, state-run BSNL is set to launch a mobile wallet. Back in May, BSNL had signed a MoU with MobiKwik to co-create the mobile wallet. Unlike existing mobile wallets, the co-created mobile wallet is said to be exclusive for BSNL customers in India.
The basic features of the mobile wallet can be assumed, but it will also perform as a marketplace. Through the mobile wallet, BSNL will integrate a digital sale of its products starting with SIM cards. More BSNL products are expected to be in tow for the mobile wallet. The BSNL mobile wallet will allow its customers to perform actions like paying bills and recharging mobile connections. The user interface and design is said to be similar to that of the MobiKwik mobile wallet. MobiKwik on its platform currently offers services like paying electricity bills, recharging mobile and DTH connections, and booking hotels, bus tickets.
