State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) announced that it has 44 million Wi-Fi hotspots available in over 100 countries. The hotspots can be accessed with the My BSNL App for Android and iOS. The tariff for the operator’s new International Wi-Fi service, called Wi-Fi+, has been fixed at Rs. 501 per month (inclusive of GST), and it offers unlimited Internet access with a 30-day validity over partner Wi-Fi hotspots.
BSNL says it’s Wi-Fi+ service doesn’t require users to remember multiple passwords. Instead, users just need to register once, which lets them automatically connect to the closest participating Wi-Fi hotspot. The new Wi-Fi+ International Wi-Fi service works with both Android and iOS smartphones via the My BSNL App, and replaces the formerly offered International Wi-Fi service that started at Rs. 999, and went up to Rs. 1,999. The BSNL Wi-Fi+ service cannot be accessed within India.
