Central Government Planning To Launch Free Education Channels Very Soon

Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) has announced that the government will launch 12 nos free DTH channels for teaching students from class I to XII.

Lockdown (Till now 3 phases) in India has severely hampered all the operations in India, including schools, colleges, offices and other sectors as well. So, the Government is planning to introduce a one class one channel plan to help school students study.

For the students who are facing difficulties to carry on with their academics due to the lockdown imposed to restrict the spreading of the Coronavirus, the Government has come up with a new plan.

The department of school education and literacy may anchor these 12 channels with appropriate content for every class. The expertise of agencies like the NCERT & CBSE may be used to develop content and run these channels.

Due to the social distancing required to keep the spreading of the COVID-19 in check, schools and colleges are conducting their classes online. The official revealed that as the Internet cant reach everywhere, the HRD ministry is turning to radio and television also.

Another major initiative that the ministry is planning to start 12 nos DTH channels, where one channel will be dedicated to each class, from class one to twelve. On these channels, appropriate content in different languages will be broadcasted to the students’ TVs. additionally, these channels will be broadcasted absolutely free of charge.

Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had also asked the students to self-study and take the assistance of digital studying modes, such as SWAYAM, Diksha to prepare for these exams. They have also arranged for the content to be broadcasted through SWAYAM Prabha TV.

There are similar plans to carry on the higher education sector as well. They are also trying to explore the option of All India Radio to broadcast academic content through the radio as well.
