Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has urged all countrymen to take part in Janata Curfew on Sunday, 22 March, From 7 AM to 9 PM & add strength to the fight against corona virus.

The Prime Minister requested people not to move out of their homes on 22nd March. He also urged the state governments, organisations like the NCC, NSS, which are led by youth, civil society and other organisations to actively encourage citizens to follow ‘Janata Curfew’ and stay inside their homes.
He also urged everyone to call and inform at least 10 other people every day about the ‘Janata Curfew’ as well as the measures to prevent spreading of Coronavirus.
PM Modi asked all citizens to take part in thanking all the medical fraternity, who have been working day in and out at hospitals and public places like airports. He requested all citizens to applaud the services extended by airlines’ staff, the cleanliness staff, those who deliver food, those who drive railways, bus or autorickshaws, government officials, policemen and the media. Terming them as ‘Rashtra Rakshaks’, PM Modi said that the country was indebted to their services.
Mail & express trains will also stop services from 4 am on Sunday. All suburban train services to be reduced to a bare minimum as well. As of now, the Indian Railways has cancelled 245 trains in order to restrict unnecessary travel due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Metro services will be closed on Sunday in view of Janata curfew: DMRC
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has decided to keep its services closed, the DMRC said in a statement. “The move is aimed at encouraging public to stay indoors and maintain social distancing, which is essential in the fight against COVID-19,” it said.
No passenger train will originate from any railway station in the country from today midnight to 10 pm on Sunday in view of the “Janta curfew” announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
“This Sunday, that is on March 22, all citizens must follow this curfew from 7 am until 9 pm. During this curfew, we shall neither leave our homes, nor get onto the streets and refrain from roaming about in our societies or areas. Only those associated with emergency and essential services may leave their homes,” Prime Minister said.
