MIB Directed All MSOs & Local Cable Operators To Use New Political Map of India

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) has directed all MSOs & Local Cable Operators to use the new political map of India that has been released on 2nd November, 2019.

This intimation specifically for all MSOs & LCOs but primarily this direction is for all MSOs & Head End Service Providers who transmit various TV channels must abide by this rule as ordered by MIB.

A similar direction has also been issued to all TV channels to  hence forth only use new political map of India.

MIB Directs TV Channels To Use New Political Map of India

Primarily this direction to all MSOs & LCOs, but also Headend Service Provider (HSP) who transmit TV channels via headend must abide by that rule as ordered by MIB.

The new political map was released by the Survey of India following the creation of the new Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh on the 31st of October, 2019.

The President of India effectively dismantled Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and gave assent to the Jammu & Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019.

This Political map has been prepared by Survey of India, Department of Science & Technology and is available online on their website for free download. All TV Channels are requested to use only the new Political map of India henceforth.

The new Union Territory of Ladakh consists of two districts of Kargil and Leh. The rest of the former State of Jammu and Kashmir is in the new Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The former state of Jammu & Kashmir has been reorganized as the new Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the new Union Territory of Ladakh on 31st October.
