This telecom company had asked the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for more time to pay its dues, as heavy financial and operational pressures amid the Covid-19 crisis.

Telcos are required to pay 8% of their AGR as licence fees and 3 – 4% of AGR as spectrum usage charges, based on self-assessed figures.

Bharti Airtel & Reliance Jio have already paid their quarterly dues, which are not part of the case being fought between the government and the telcos in the Supreme Court.

The deadline for the quarterly dues was 25th March 2020. DoT had indicated its willingness to consider the request of operators to postpone payment and compliance of licence fees & spectrum usage charges to 30th April.
